BAFF intern Gerli Pesor at Alexander Wang

Gerli Pesor, BAFF intern from Estonia, spent a year in NYC working at one of the biggest fashion brands right now – Alexander Wang. She was an intern in the handbag design team.

Gerli was lucky to be included in designing, developing and producing 6 collections of handbags. She managed to see how ideas became sketches, then prototypes, then samples in a very short time with all the trial and error. She saw what it takes for the bags to end up on the runway and eventually in the stores (a lot of intense meetings and late nights!) and also had the chance to participate NYFW two times by assisting Alexander Wang shows backstage.

Gerli worked side by side with the greatest minds of the industry and inspired every day. One of the most valuable experience for her was seeing and being part of the great teamwork. Her team became her second family and that broke a lot of stereotypes that are associated with interning at a fashion company.

Gerli appreciates her experience highly: "Now, as I just returned to Estonia, I’m starting to work for a local shoe brand. I will take on the same responsibilities as I had at Wang, with a little extra taste of marketing. I’m grateful to BAFF, Alexander Wang and my supervisor for one of the greatest experiences of my life!"
